    Presenters John Frizzell and Mike Ward will discuss the design, development process, and use of tools to assess, development, and manage talent. We will be reviewing and discussing the science behind the use of assessments, the benefits of using assessments, and how to leverage assessments throughout the employee life cycle. We will describe best practices of the use of assessments during the selection, development, and succession planning processes within an organization.

    Jason Frizzell is a Consultant based in the Pittsburgh office of Select International. Prior to joining Select, Jason has had consulting experience and completed a variety of projects in conjunction with several industries including creating a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training program for a university, conducting and creating a competency job analysis, creating a content valid selection test for an automotive manufacturing plant, and creating an inductive job analysis for the Kentucky state government. At Select, Jason has assisted in executive assessments, conducting job analyses, competency modeling, creating interview guides, conducting interview training, and aiding in selection assessment validation efforts.  His specialties include, but are not limited to, job analyses, competency modeling, test validation, survey creation, talent management, and employee training.  Jason earned his Master of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky.  Jason also currently holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.

    Mike Ward is an innovator and thought leader in the Talent Management space.  He has provided over 25 years of consulting to help organizations maximize the potential of their greatest asset, talent.  His understanding of people, process, and technology makes him a valuable resource to organizations seeking to drive results by aligning their human resources with their strategic goals.  Mike pioneered the first fully integrated Human Capital Management System (web-based software) in North America.  He grew the business to over 300 clients before selling to the world’s largest contingent labor company.  In addition, Mike has delivered recruiting, training & development, performance appraisal, and assessment services for many Fortune 100 organizations.  As an entrepreneur he is founder of a restaurant franchise, home renovation business, and a consulting practice.  Mike earned his BS Engineering from Michigan State University and his MBA from University of Dayton.

    This program has been submitted for 1.0 (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
