    This position reports to the Director of Human Resources, and is a trusted strategic business partner to the Peru, Illinois, Plant Manager. You must be an astute HR Business Partner, with expertise in the management of employee and labor relations, administration of employee programs, change management, employee engagement strategy, leadership development, organizational design, performance management, HR laws and regulations, HR policy management. You’re a servant leader, who always acts with integrity and discretion to ensure your role as a trusted advisor. 

    The HR Business Partner is responsible for oversight and implementation of human resource functions for all employee groups (salaried, salaried non-exempt, and hourly). Serves as a consultant to management on all employee relations issues; acts as an employee champion and change agent.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

    ● Responsible for the HR Business Partner relationships and HR activities for the Peru ISO5 manufacturing location. 

    ● Act as a key HR Business Partner supporting plant departments on all aspects of human resources, including organizational and employee development.

    ● Manage all employee and labor relations activities within the site according to established guidelines, sound administrative practices and in accordance with the organization's mission, values, and goals. 

    ● Provide HR expertise on employment laws and practices. 

    ● Research and develop/recommend solutions and process improvements on HR related projects, processes, and policies aligned to GAF strategy, culture, and business practices. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    1. Strategically contribute to the business objectives by helping plant leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes. 

    2. Lead the process of capturing desired changes in plant policies or practices. Ensure consistent application of all corporate and plant policies and practices. 

    3. Provide expert advice and coaching where appropriate. Ensure that strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization. 

    4. Assist the business leader to provide employees with development opportunities and ensure current and future performance standards are met. Champion the Talent Management Process. Support managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the business objectives. 

    5. Oversee recruitment, orientation, training, transfers, job postings, and terminations for all positions.

    6. Support Environmental, Health and Safety requirements as needed. 

    7. Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives. Participate in corporate HR project teams and programs and coordinate community involvement as needed. 

     

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 

    Required qualifications: 

    ● Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field 

    ● 4+ years demonstrated HR/employee relations experience 

    ● Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, production or big box/wholesale retail environment 

     

    Preferred qualifications 

    ● Master’s degree in Human Resources 

    ● SPHR or PHR certification or SHRM equivalence 

    ● Proficiency in Google Suite
